The Audubon Zoo Sculpture Project.
Jocelyn was chosen to complete fifteen life size sculptures for Audubon Zoo, installed April, 2017. The sculptures included five life size African elephants, five lions, and five meerkat sets. The project took two years to complete and is the largest commission the artist has received to date. Jocelyn had to move to Norman, Oklahoma during tornado season to work closely with her foundry (The Crucible, LLC) and sculpted elephant monuments during the day and refined the smaller sculptures in her apartment at night. Using her own reference photographs of wildlife from three prior trips to Africa, the artist stated she was ‘like a kid in a candy store’. It was an exhilarating accomplishment and she forged new relationships with a new foundry and the entire committee at Audubon Zoo.
