Description
A Secretariat Bronze Statue with Ron Turcotte, “Racing into History”.
The first lifesize + ½ (21′ x 11’4″ x 5′) bronze monument, commissioned by Triangle Foundation, was unveiled and dedicated on October 11, 2019 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. The jockey, Ron Turcotte, attended the festivities. The final installation site is on the outskirts of town in a roundabout at Old Frankfort Pike and Alexandria Drive.
A second monument was dedicated in Ashland, Virginia, on March 30, 2024!
Maquette’s, a scale model of the monument, are available in two sizes in bronze. Each maquette is mounted on black granite, signed, and numbered. The patina is traditional ferric for the deep rich reds and an iridescent blue tint denotes the checkers and stripes. The ‘white’ is represented with polished bronze to show the beauty of the metal (no white paint).
