“Racing into History” – Secretariat and Ron Turcotte
The lifesize + ½ (21′ x 11’4″ x 5′) bronze monument, commissioned by Triangle Foundation, will be unveiled and dedicated October 11, 2019 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. The jockey, Ron Turcotte, is planning on attending the festivities. Final installation site will be on the outskirts of town in a roundabout at Old Frankfort Pike and Alexandria Drive. Each maquette is mounted on black granite, signed and numbered. The patina is traditional ferric for the deep rich reds and an iridescent blue tint denotes the checkers and stripes. The ‘white’ is represented with polished bronze to show the beauty of the metal (no white paint).
